latest
There was a horrible explosion at a factory in Milwaukee. My brother called to let me know that he was ok, which was good because I would have worried. He works about a mile away from where the explosion occurred and said that it felt like an earthquake. As of last night, three people were dead and around 40 people were injured. This story made the national news.
The job thing is still going slowly but surely. I should get outside to clear my mind and to give myself a break, but it is darn cold out. It is 13 degrees, but that is not taking the wind chill into consideration. I like snow. I like it cold-ish. But I do not like it blistering cold. Here's hoping I find a job someplace in the South.
Has anyone ever owned a Chia Pet? I just saw a commercial for them and am amazed that they are still for sale, considering I do not know anyone who has had one. Also, they are still using the same cheesy commercial from past years.

Chicago
There was so much funness in Chicago. Some of the highpoints.
Overheard on train: "Oh thanks. I like it too. It is well worth the 600 dollars for the haircut because it is wash and go."
Ugly: Dude. There was so much ugly going on in the stores. I saw the ugliest dress/coat for $7,000. $7,000 and it didn't even have real pockets.
Crappy service at a bakery/cafe. My friend is pretty sure that her screwing up our order pretty much was the final straw in her getting fired.
- Navy boys were in port. They were everywhere.
- Fur coat tally: Lost count after about 25. There were so many people that it was hard to keep track of all the ugly furs being worn.
- Vera Wang decorated the Christmas tree at Macys.
another reason why I prefer commuter trains
I hate motherfucking semis! This semi almost ran us off the road on our way to Harvard, IL to catch the train to Chicago. Between semis, shitty roads (Seriously. The day after a major storm and the highways were not plowed properly. ), and expensive gas, I would much prefer to travel by train anywhere I go.
