come here ROMY!!!!!

My parent's dog Romy. Even though I know he is a dog, he looks like a dog, he sure does not act like one. He has such a cat-like personality, that I have grown accustomed to calling him cat-dog. Usually he ignores all people, unless they have food or are walking in front of his house. This picture was taken at the State Park near Sheboygan.

The job search is slow but steady. I applied for a job in Texas earlier today and I have a few other applications to finish up and send them out. Why do libraries still require print applications/resumes? Why not E-mail?

Going Home

Today I did the unthinkable and applied for a job in my old hometown. The town I spent most of my youth isn't that bad of a place. It is on Lake Michigan, it has about 52,000 people, two Starbucks, cheap bars and even a Target. However, it lacks a bookstore where you can go and get a cup of coffee and get lost in the stacks for hours and hours. Could I go back to living in a place without a bookstore? If I would move back, it would be my mission to find all of the fun things about this place because there has to be some, right?

Thanksgiving

I once wanted to become an atheist, but I gave up - they have no holidays. ~~Henny Youngman [US (English-born) comedian (1906 - 1998)]

It is that time of year again, the start of the Christmas holiday. To me, Thanksgiving was the signal that Christmas is coming. Christmas music is played on the radio, holiday programs begin to appear on TV and for the past 7 years, the last projects and papers were due (not including finals) either before or after the holiday.

I will be heading home to Sheboygan (picture to the left) for a week or so. There really is not much to do in Sheboygan, so I will have more than enough time to apply for jobs.

Happy Turkey Day Everyone!

Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.
~George Bernard Shaw~

The above quote kind of reminds me of Frankenstein and creating life is done by attaching body parts and brainwashing skills, dreams, and fears into a person.

The reality is that it just takes a little bit of motivation and actively trying new things to realize what you can do with your life.

Bolton = Hell?

I was flipping through the channels to see what was on TV at 7:20 in the morning where I read on the guide "To Hell and Back." Then I realized Michael Bolton on the screen. Coincidence or proof in advertising?

Christmas Music

Yes. I know it is only November, but I have been listening to Christmas music off and on since I went to Target the day after Halloween and they had all of the Halloween stuff gone and Christmas stuff out. I have compiled a play list of all of my favorite songs that I own, which includes John Denver and the Muppets, Mannheim Steamroller, Very merry Christmas' volumes 1 and 3 and a bunch more.

Christmas used to be my favorite time of year, what with winter break from school, good food and presents. But since I hit college, this time of year was filled with stress and worry about finishing papers or studying for tests. Now that college is over, I should be happy again, right? WRONG. Looking for a job is so much worse than cramming for finals or writing 15 page papers.

It is because of this feeling of wanting to regain the happiness of a carefree kid, that I am listening to Christmas music before Thanksgiving.
